The Statue, The Silk and The Story is a literary mystery set at a remote boarding school to which neglectful parents send their despondent children. As her most precious possessions disappear one by one, the Headmistress enlists three special students to detect the thief, and the explanation. This is a novel for precocious readers- Matilda as co-authored by Lemony Snicket, perhaps, with a satisfying and heartwarming conclusion.

Most people would. Those who continue up the drive at last see the cold and massive grey walls of the school’s old buildings, which keep the outside world far away, and the children within unheard and unseen…
